Updated: Apr 12, 2022

Who is Andre'a Bowens? I value loyalty and commitment. I am passionate about helping others, family, and community, and I am good at designing and problem-solving.

Where are you from? I was born in Rock Island, Illinois, raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and recently relocated to Atlanta, Georgia.

Why did you start ABowens Drug and Alcohol Counseling? I have watched many suffer and die from the disease of addiction, not knowing or believing the disease could be treated. I, too, recover from the disease of addiction, one day at a time, and recently celebrated 23 years of sobriety after oce losing everything, except my life.

What is your approach to recovery? One of the primary interventions utilized at Abowens Counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT. That is a fancy way of saying what one feels and thinks is directly related to how they act or behave.

Why did you become a counselor? I became a counselor to inspire others. Being able to provide hope for the hopeless is a rewarding experience.

What services do you offer? ABowens Drug and Alcohol Counseling offers active Level 1 outpatient services. We also provide comprehensive substance abuse evaluations.

In the future, services will expand to include intensive outpatient treatment, which will consist of individual and group therapy.

How do I start working with you? Please call 678-866-4050 or log on to www.abowenscounseling.com to schedule an appointment for a consult and future services.

What is your confidentiality policy? Our policy as it pertains to confidentiality requires all clients to sign a release of information upon intake. A release of information is a statement signed by the client authorizing ABowens Drug and Alcohol Counseling to give or receive the division information necessary for treatment services. ABowens Counseling will NOT leave revealing information on voicemail or text or acknowledge to outside parties that a client has an appointment, nor will we discuss the contents of therapy with a third party without the client's explicit written permission.

If you weren't a counselor, what would you be? I would be a fashion designer. I have always enjoyed fashion and design, and I have an eye for the arts.

What is a fun fact about you that most people don't know? Most people don't know that I used to be a model.
